Goldie is 5 months old and we are well and truly out of the newborn bubble, we’ve found our groove and really enjoying this current phase - she’s excited, curious and SO MUCH FUN!

We thought this week on Tips, Hacks, Ideas we’d put out the prompt and ask our followers who have had kids what their top tips are for new parents.

We loved hearing all of your wisdom and so happy to share with you here. And like everything in life - always take advice with a grain of salt.

Top tips for new parents.

  • Don't put high expectations on yourself, sometimes just looking after your baby is enough

  • If you think they are awake in the middle of the night, give them a minute or two just to make sure

  • The days are long, but the years are fast

  • Accept help and don't be afraid to ask for what you need

  • You're going to make mistakes, and that's ok

  • Give each other baby-free me time

  • Your relationship with your partner will change, keep open communication with each other and seek help if you need it

  • There will be a lot of big emotions

  • Everyday is a new day

  • Blockout blinds for day sleeps

  • Listen to your intuition, you know what's best for your baby

  • Join a parents group, you may meet your new best friend

  • Have fun

  • Get a white noise machine

  • Do a first aid course & learn CPR

  • Enjoy the baby bubble, they really do grow up fast

  • Don’t get hung up on advice from others

  • A fed baby is a happy baby. Ultimately, being fed is best. It doesn't matter what route you choose as long as you and your baby are happy

  • Don't sweat the small stuff

Whatever works for you & your baby.
