Styling with Bold Colours and Prints In Your Bedroom

For this bedroom style we were inspired by the flowering wattle blossoms and how they pack a punch of colour on a gloomy winter’s day. So when Al finished making this custom Bookshelf Bed and matching Lowboy Chest of drawers it only felt right to go bold and style using a mix of fun colours, textures and prints.

We started the room with the Dharma rug from the Slow Weave collection by Rugs For Good. The Slow Weave collection is ethically handmade, GoodWeave Certified and 100% of the profit from each rug sale supports building brighter futures for children in India. Rugs For Good are passionate about supporting education for children and empowering them to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.

The next step was to bring in our furniture, the Bookshelf Square Bed and matching 6 Drawer Low Boy which are handmade using sustainably sourced VIC Ash. We styled the bed using linen from the Sage x Clare Celeste collection, original artworks by local artist Prudence Caroline, ceramic mug by local ceramist Takeawei and finished the look with a huge bunch of flowering wattle in the Poet’s Dream Water Jug by Robert Gordon Pottery.

For maximum comfort you’ll find me wearing Sage x Clare Madeline Check Pj’s and Unisex Slippers by UGG.

We hope this bedroom styling inspires you to play around with colour, bold prints and textures!
