Babymoon at Lon Retreat; Luxury Hotel and Spa
I’ll be honest, i’d been dying to stay at the Lon Retreat ever since they opened… so when my girlfriends gifted me a spa voucher for my 30th it only seemed fitting to tack on some accomodation and make a holiday out of it!
What a perfect place to spend our ‘Babymoon’ AKA the last holiday just the two of us we’ll have in a while.
The Lon Retreat is a luxury hotel and spa located in Point Lonsdale on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria.
Upon arrival we went for a big walk across the farm and down to the beach (well, Al walked and at 8 months pregnant I waddled). The sandy beach track spits you out onto a beautiful private stretch of sand and rugged ocean.
Windswept we decided the next place to explore would be the pool which is heated and filled with mineral water tapped from the limestone caves beneath the hotel. We don’t have a bath at our house and i’d be hanging out to float … I also had this wild idea that swimming and doing handstands in the water may somehow help spin our breech baby… it didn’t.
We spent the night snuggled up in our very lush room eating and relaxing. And in the morning enjoyed breakfast provided by the hotel filled with delicious local produce before hitting the mineral pool again, floating and taking in the amazing views.
We packed up our belongings, checked out of our room and headed to the Day Spa where I had booked us a private soak and couples massage. Relaxing for Al and Pregnancy for me.
We were welcomed with drinks upon arrival and then showed to our room. We plunged into a large round stone bath surrounded by glass windows overlooking the farm. This was probably my favourite moment of our trip, it was warm and intimate - we reminisced about the good times we’ve shared just the two of us and then imagined what our life was going to be like with our new baby.
Feeling super relaxed we climbed onto the massage beds and blissed out in la la land.
Before I sign off on this blog post we can’t go past mentioning the incredibly fit out of the Hotel and Spa. If you have a love for design, just walking into this space will instantly fill your cup.
Overall short stay at the Lon Retreat was amazing and a perfect way to celebrate the ending of one chapter and the start of a new one.
