What It's Like To Have a Miscarriage
We'll be honest guys - it’s been a really tough couple of weeks. We were super excited to share our news that we were expecting a little summer bub in February.
Sadly we lost our little baby at 9 weeks and have been lying low, processing and recovering together over the past couple of weeks.
We are absolutely gutted.
We decided to share our miscarriage experience on today’s Al and Imo Breakfast Show for anyone who curious about what the process looked like for us behind closed doors.
Miscarriage is mysterious, confronting, raw and like a nightmare you can’t wake up from. It’s physically painful and emotionally draining. There's feelings of anger, guilt, shame, regret and deep sadness.
Miscarriage is really common, 1 in 5 pregnancies result in loss and there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent or stop it which leaves you feeling unbelievably helpless.
Our hearts goes out to anyone who’s experienced trauma surrounding conception, loss, pre and post natal. We're also feeling all the feels for the “textbook perfect” pregnancies and births that are also traumatic at the moment due to COVID and the hospital restrictions separating new parents and babies from the support of their families and friends.
Stay safe, be kind.
